Self Inflating Mat

The self inflating mat (SIM) I use is the most comfortable air bed I've ever slept on - its better than our bed at home. No getting woken up in the night if someone gets off and you fly up in the air. Although its quite expensive its definitely worth it. We've got the Vango 7.5cm double.

I've also made a fleece cover for it to protect it and try to keep it clean. I just bought two cheap double fleece blankets and stitched them together on three sides. 

It takes a bit of practice getting it back down after inflating but you get there in the end. Ive found the best way is to squidge as much air out of it by folding in half down the central line and rolling it up. Then close the nozzles, undo, and roll again. Then let the last bit of air out and you should find the two straps that keep it together fit around it and its ready to be put back into the bag it comes with.
